By going to College or University for the type of things you want to learn is pointless unless you don't know key techniques. However, freelancing for 8 months; I'm pretty sure you already know them.

At University or College they only teach you techniques and mark you on what they like and that's not what photography is about; or art for that matter.

It's all about your portfolio and what you capture. Get out your camera and start snapping everything and anything that inspires you.

When showing your portfolio don't be discouraged if someone doesn't like it. You can't capture 'right' images. You can only improve the techniques you use to capture an image.
