Have only just seen this post so hopefully a reply is still relevant
The lifestyle side of things is very hard as these are more consumer-facing. However, on the mobile telephony side, these could be business related and so are much easier to get placed. Trade magazines especially are always on the lookout for good editorial, opinion-pieces and the like. You don't get paid but you do get your name out there and a link to your website usually, which helps with getting other business.
Would suggest having a look at all trade mags that are relevant to your sector and then email a sample article to the editor, in order of preference, giving people a day or two to get back to you, as these types of mag will not want to publish something which is also being run elsewhere. Alternatively send different articles to each!
