Default Hello

Hi, my name's RJ. I'm a fiction writer with my first novel out at the end of the year and I also review books for Sfcrowsnest.com (the second largest site of its kind in the world). I've done bits and bobs of journalism and edited content for a large fiction website in the past and I have a background in high level customer service, I used to write training manuals and such.

Unfortunately, I'm quite ill and stuck at home. My partner (A graphic designer) has been roping me in to re-write the text she gets with various projects or to write entirely new text when it's too appalling. As I'm a bit dizzy it's never really occurred to me that people may actually pay me to do this until she pointed it out. Painkillers, my friend and yet my enemy also, oh the terrible irony.

I know nothing about the freelance side of it, what rates of pay to ask for or expect, how to get jobs or how I should angle my CV etc. I've been reading up about it but have always found it better to go straight to the mouth of the horse, so to speak. I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to fill me in or point me at a reputable source of information.

Thankee kindly.

RJ

Hi RJ,

I hope you're recovering!

Please take a look at my site - I'm quite new to copywriting but have posted a few articles on my blog which you may find useful. Please feel free to email me if you have any specific questions.

Good luck!

Leif
