Unhappy Some sound advice please.

Hi Everyone,

I've just joined the forum hoping someone can offer some sound advice please.

I'm a qualified copywriter with little experience. I've gained a diploma through completing a home study course. So far, the only experience I've had is writing newsletters and a press release for a small local charity. I've contacted several local graphic companies by email offering my services but had no replies.

I've followed some advice and written a piece on copywriting which was published in a local village newsletter. I saw this as free advertising for myself having left a contact email address - nothing as yet from that.

I feel the trend is turning towards web copy - something I don't know a lot about yet as the course did not cover this subject.

What is my next best approach in starting out freelance please? Do I email companies offering my services - do companies still require various types of hard copy written for them or do I finish learning how to create a web site and learn how to write online copy?

I'd appreciate any sound advice from someone with more experience please. Thanks!

Default Hi

Hi,

There is nothing to be so confused as it seems you are.

Type "article (or content) writing" and google it.

First try and understand how to write webcontent through many article directories you will come across on web.

Secondly see few examples of articles in this article directories.

Thirdly find freelance sites where there are job listings, there are plenty of them. And yes, forums as well.

Fourth, understand how to post as well as bid depending upon which sites you are looking through, else you might be banned.

fifth, understand that all the content you provide must be unique and must pass copyscape i.e. should not be copied from elsewhere.

Sixth, understand that time is of essence in here and deliver work on time to get better reputation among your clients as well as in the marketplace. It will earn you good reviews and feedback helping you in getting more clients or you can say money.

That should do. Start with searching places- where to learn and then where to earn from. Remember, freelance article writing job is the keyword

I am a freelance writer myself, so I can say perseverance in the begining will help you go a long way in this field.

Hope this will help a bit

Goodluck

Nick
