Default Books

Hi,

Can anyone recommend any good 'Online/Web Copywriting' handbooks please?

I'd be really grateful for any titles on this subject. Thanks!

Default Great Book

Web Copy that Sells by Maria Veloso, but it's quite American.

OR any of these great books: WritingEngine's Book Store - Great Books To Help You Write Your Own Copy!

I agree; Andy Maslen's stuff is excellent. His book is so easy to read.

I also think that 'The Copywriter's Handbook - A Step-By-Step Guide to Writing Copy That Sells' by Robert W. Bly is a good book.

Best wishes,

Alex

Two books that have been regularly recommended to me (most recently by the 'quality manager' at a leading UK digital agency) are:

Killer Web Content, Gerry McGovern
(http://www.amazon.co.uk/Killer-Web-C..._bxgy_b_text_c)

Web Content Style Guide, Gerry McGovern et al
(http://www.amazon.co.uk/Web-Content-...4203419&sr=1-1)

However, you don't have to spend anything to learn the basics (and more). There is LOADS of free content out there; two good places to start are Copyblogger (http://www.copyblogger.com) and Men with Pens (http://menwithpens.ca/).

Identify a few blogs that you like and sign up for their RSS feeds via a tool like Bloglines. It saves you spending lots of time visiting each individual site every day and you'll receive plenty of great tips.

Hi All,

Looks as if I have plenty to have a look at.

Thanks for all your replies.

I already have several of Robert W Bly's books but obviously he is American & it would be great to read from a British author. I've just found Content is King by David Mills but haven't started reading it yet! I will look at Andy Maslens book too as most appear to recommend it

Thanks!
