Default Taking the plunge.. I think?!

I am currently on maternity leave & am pondering my options. In an ideal world I want to work for myself rather than returning to a very demanding Product Management Position with a blue chip company. In this ‘ideal world’ I would have enough copywriting freelance work to keep me going and eventually I would like to offer creative design services (if I can get my head around InDesign).

I have always written my own copy for print advertising, web, literature & POS but this is all limited to the motor industry. To help me on my way I want to diversify my portfolio; the glitch is because I am technically still employed (and may still chicken out of going it alone) I am unable to charge for any copywriting that I do. Therefore I am looking to complete some copywriting work FOC.. Can anyone offer me advice on how best to find such work please?
