Freelance Travel Writers Wanted

We are an online travel guide and community based in Munich, Germany currently looking for travel writers.
We pay 1.50GBP per 500 character/letter travel tip.
We are interested in personal travel experiences, feedback and insider tips on bars, restaurants, clubs, attractions, hotels etc. Authors can write about any locations worldwide- including places they live in.
Work is flexible and all you need is an internet connection.

£1.50 per 500 words? That's 0.003p per word.

The word 'sweatshop' comes to mind.

NUJ recommended minimum rate per 1000 words is £180.00. Anything less than £100.00 is ridiculous and should be treated with the contempt it deserves. Would a plumber work for pennies?

The price quoted is per letter and not per word, although I'm not spending my time working out if that's a decent amount of money to work for...

Yesssss. However, I sub-edit for a publication that uses a freelance writer who tries the "let's write lots of words and get paid for them gambit" in submitted copy.

She does not call a spade a spade. She would describe it as a "multi-functional implement designed for excavational activities within soil or soil-like structures."

She makes my temper and my red pen run hot! Why do we use her? The publisher likes her!

Tell me about it - I do most of my copywriting in the IT sector and they just LOVE jargon - and making things more complicated than they need to be . . .
