I'm at home sick, and have nothing better to do than work on some clippings. I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about how best to present it.
For portfolios to be emailed/sent via disc, I'm just gonna scan the articles, arrange them in folders according to date and which paper they appeared in, and I'm going to include a few of the shows I produce for the radio, and a few samples of me reading the news. I have printable discs, so I'm going to print a cover onto the disc itself, and probably on to the jewel case cover too. It's more the old-fashioned paper portfolio I'd be worried about, I have no idea how to present it. The masthead of my college newspaper is too large to stick to an A4 piece of paper- I had been thinking of gluing my articles down, and gluing the masthead with the date on top, but that's not gonna work. I want my portfolio to be easily read, and to stand out as well. Also, what do I send it in? Do I send it as an artist would (my sister has large manilla folders which contain loose sheets of her drawings) or in a folder? I would be including audio CDs of my radio work, and DVDs of my television work. Also, should I include a headshot, even for jobs which don't involve television? Any suggestions? |
