      Hi Harrier,
      No worries......If you were working freelance [not taxed at source etc] & you personally created the art/imagery, then you have every right in Law to use them for personal promotional purposes, just as long as you don't re-sell any of the work to additional clients.

      However, if he gets nasty & decides on court action, you will need to prove creation of said works, so make sure you have the paperwork [invoices etc] & any email correspondence that relates to the disputed artworks.

      IMHO he's taking the piss......personally I'd call his bluff, politely explain the intellectual copyright position & hold fast on your rights........bullies always back down in the face of a stiff backbone.
