I wonder if you could help me? I am out doing bits and pieces and knocking on doors trying to get work. I am doing stuff for magazines and I also get some PR stuff.
What I do not know is what rates I would charge. To be honest what I don’t want to happen is to be quoting clients a rate that is too low and pissing off professional photographers and getting a bad name for myself. The last thing I would want is to quote for a job and be low that it would make any professional not get a job. I was talking to a pro photographer and he was saying that some people have already mentioned my name about as they have seen me at events and asked who I was. The last thing I want is someone saying, “the that asshole who did a job for £150 and I was in at £500”. I am no way trying to under cut anyone. I honestly just don’t know what to charge. With the press industry being what I can see as very close knit. I am heart scared of this happening. I would really appreciate your help. |
