U won't get one at that price mate but if U try the SLR look alikes they might sound taccy but are really good for what they are I suggest the fuji S5700 which has 7.1 mega pixels you might be lucky and get the S9600 on E-bay in your price range that has about 9 mega pixels

check out Canon, Sony alpha and Nikon. Jessops were recently doing offers which included camera bag and lens and other bits and pieces. I've got a D80 and my husband has a Sony Alpha. He thinks mine in better but they're pretty similar, both 10.2 mpx. The build quality is better on the Nikon but you pay about double for that. There is at least one camera from each of these makes that comes in at £300 - £400 and is around 10.2 mpx but there are lots of other features as well to consider. Look on the web, there are sites that compare cameras in various price ranges, then I would suggest you go visit Jessops or your local retailer and try them out.

I've recently purchased a Nikon D40 (6.1 Megapix) with extras from an ebay Power Seller in Hong Kong for less than £300 including shipping (though the import vat was an extra £40) You may well get a D40x in your price range if you try that route. Try digitalrev.com
As for the D40 its a great value camera and will print at least up to A3 without any noticable loss of resolution. I've had images from it accepted on poster websites for up to 20"x24" though I do plan to upgrade to a D40x (or a higher spec)eventually. Both use SD memory cards. Practical Photography magazine September issue rated the D40x as the best value budget DSLR in a comparison with Canon 400D. For serious photography I would be inclined to go for a bona fide SLR though. |

The Nikon D40X is a great camera buts its functionality has room for improvement. I would recommend the Canon Eos 400D . Both Cameras can be obtained at a heavy discount at Cheap Discount Digital Cameras
