1st job in fashion illustration-pls help

hello,i got a job to draw a fashion collection' from photos,but have no idea where to start,how it should look like exactly,so i bet i should ask the client his expectations like what media i should use,what attitude,if some lifestyle included,if she wish me to make finish in adobe?
she wants me to draw tartan,i never drowe it but perhaps can learn it:eyes:eyes



or about what are you usually asking ?

and how to talk about payment (if there is any)because i am beggining,so still practising and its my 1st job and if its good promotion i'd not ask for money.

Do you have a degree or previous experience in this. Can you use programs like Photoshop, Illustrator and CAD. Are you good in graphic design and do you have a good fashion sense.

If you have answered NO to most of the questions then maybe you should subcontract the job. But If you said YES then you will do just fine, just put your spin or interpretation on it.
