Advice needed regarding client payment method

Hi,
Just a quick one, I am doing some paid work for my first client and they have asked to pay me via a ban transfer.
I was just wondering if this is a safe way for me to be paid, as i don't want to give out any secure details and be screwed over!
If this is not the best way, what other methods do people use?

I take it you trust this company to do work for them anyway. (Also, you give out your bank account number and sort code every time you write a cheque.) Otherwise there's paypal. - Contact in PM
