Advice on paying tax
Hi everyone,
My husband works full time as a Graphic Designer (employed) and has just completed some freelance work in addition to his job (less than £1,000).
How does he go about declaring this work for tax purposes?
Does he need to register as self employed and fill in a tax return. If so would he have to do the full one or just the short version.

I had a look at the Tax website, but it's confused me more than anything.
The main thing I'm concerned about is that if I do have to declare, will my current employers find out? - Contact in PM

Others here are far better qualified to answer than I am, but I believe that the basic answer is that yes, you have to register as self employed and do a self assessment at the end of the tax year.Opus Creative Design Ltd - Contact in PM
