    Hi there,

I have a couple of questions regarding two different matters, I coupled them in one message (hope that's ok):

First one is if anybody could recommend any magazines/clients who use frequently use illustration?

I'm searching for potential clients to send my portfolio to, I was wondering if any of you know/ have had any experience with magazines or clients who use illustration in their campaigns and are open to new proposals from freelancers.

I'd like to be proactive since I'm just starting out with freelancing in London haven't set a name for myself yet. I know it's a arduous job and any tips would be of great use. I was thinking about contacting magazines like ComputerArts or NoBrow, but a longer list is always better.

Second, I was looking for some advice regarding my legal status as a freelancer. I'm searching right now for the solution to this problem, but any piece of advice could save me time and will be appreciated.

The problem is that I'm registered in the EU as a international operator but I'm living in London at the moment. I haven't met the 183 days period that would make me subject to UK taxation, but I will certainly reach that point soon. I can work with a freelance contract and declare the earnings in my country, but I don't know what legal status I would have here.

Since I don't have a working right, the only way to get paid now would be to work as a foreign operator, which I'm not very comfortable with because of the paperwork and taxes involved. I'm searching for a way to do this legally here, if anybody has any tips, shoot.

    Thanks in advance!
