Consulting for Spanish company

I have been consulting for a Spanish company for the last 2 1/4 years. They have been my only client. Under UK law (if I understand this correctly) a company that employs a contractor for more than 1 full year and the company is the contractor's only client they would need to employ me full time.
I know that this is also the case in other European countries - would that also be true for Spain? So my question is: do I have the status of a full employee with that company after all that time although I do only have a consultancy contract which is open ended?
Any advise would be much appreciated.
Thanks
