    Hello,

Ok.. i've recently gone freelance at the end of last year.

I'm a camera man, say for example i've spent £7000 on equipment to get started and general expenses in the period from when I started to april.

But i've only earned enough to say be accountable for £3000 worth of tax..

Does this mean I am entitled to a refund from the HMRC?

  2. Maybe not a refund as such but you certainly wouldnt be expected to pay any tax if your net earnings were less than your total expenses.

Any doubts your really best of speaking to the 'Rev, as we can only speculate or give opinions based on our own experiences.
