Freelance Rates - What Should I charge?
Hi Guys,
I have recently started freelancing due to redundancy. Fortunately I have a steady flow of work for several months.
In my previous job I was earning £12 an hour (£90 a Day) but that was full time and I was getting full holiday & sick pay entitlement. I also had virtually no travel expenses.
I have already done 10 days work at my previous rate but informed my employer that I would like to review this.
I am aware I should be earning enough to cover my holidays etc that I was previously getting on a full time basis.
Can anyone give me advice on the going rates at the moment. I have 5 years experience and have worked with many of the clients before.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Messages count : 3Likes count : 0Registration : 28 September 2010Going freelance on with graphic design is a tough call. There's so many out there that are willing to undercut your prices and it usually means you'll find it harder getting top quality high paying clients.
However if you already have good clients then do your maths before agreeing anything with them.---- - Contact in PM

If you lower your price, you'll disappear amongst all the others trying to undercut you as previously mentioned.
If you're confident in your abilities, why not try standing out by being more expensive than the rest?
I haven't tried the theory as a freelancer yet, but I intend to. It always worked when I was agency based.
