Currently a graphic designer and am in the process of teaching myself coding languages such as HTML and CSS. What is the reality for a graphic designer, web designer/developer going freelance? I'm based in South Wales. Is it very difficult to get consistent work? Can you earn enough annually for it to be worthwhile? Or is it best to get a full time job within development.

Thank you for any help or advice, just want to be aware of the reality of going freelance full time.

    Hi,

Well it all really depends on you....

My two pence worth would be always go for the full time job option as it gives you a monthly income and keeps the wolf from the door! while you build up your freelance work. Nothing is going to happen over night and if you don't like it or it does not work then you have your full job to fall back on.
