I am a sophomore in college I am majoring in Public Relations field. I would like to become a music publicist after I graduate and get my degree and I have already started working with music artists and got my website up and things.

I would like to get some feedback from people who has been successful or is still in the public relations field. What does it take?!? Is the pay good?

If my degree is public relations, will this still help me to become a "Music Publicist" after college?? Will the college teach me tips/strategies on how to get connections and build relationships to get in with a well named music artist?

It depends. I would recommend to concentrate on the industry and the events themselves more than on your degree. Maybe find an internship in a well known company in this field that will give you access to the artists

Shortlist a few of Music companies and try to meet the respected HR managers. It helps :)
