    Hi,

I'm super new to illustrator so forgive my ignorance.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me why when I 'place' an image it's really small?

I'm try to place my logo on a banner ad, but it's tiny and if I scale it, it ruins the logo.

    Am I doing something stupid?

    Thank you in advance,

    Rachael

    Hi

Could it be to do with dpi? If, for example, you paste a 72 dpi image into a 300 dpi document it will appear very small and the quality will degrade when enlarged. If you place a 300 dpi image in then it should appear as you'd expect it to. You'd need 300 for print quality but 72 would do for screen images. In the case of the latter you'd only need a 72 dpi document.

    Hope that helps.
