Hi! I always find it difficult to decide how much to charge. I've been asked to do illustrations (oil paint + vector) for a children's storytelling project. The scope of work is: 5 full page illustrations + 18 smaller illustrations.
What do you think I should be charging? THANKS!

Well that questions is very open. Depends on what you want charge?

My advice is to work out how long is it going to take you. Once you know that you can then work it out from then.

Also is this going to be one of your first commissions or are you a veteran designers could this lead to more work? Could you use the work for your profile once you have completed it?

So many factors effect the price. But as long as you are not working for free unless it will lead to more work and you are happy then that is the price.

Please note that some people are going to charge more and some people are going to charge less!!

Take 5$ per hour as a beginner. It's okay.

If you are an expert in web design then obviously you'll get $8-10 per hour. All the best!

I'd opt for $7-8 per hour

Cleaners here charge 25 euro per hour.

    Food for thought.
