Illustrator new to London... from Vancouver

Hi. there. I'm an illustrator from Vancouver that recently moved to the UK... mainly for travels.. but would love to connect with other illustrators the like that live in UK. Was also wondering where does one start to look for work here in London for illustration?? i used to work for videogames and animation but am looking to branch out into children's book or other forms of publication work...
if anyone knows any outlets or places to connect, that would be great!
