Even great content needs to be marketed. Otherwise there is little chance that readers will find it and you’ll have nothing to show for your efforts. Here are a few points on how to market content. Reach Out to People – If you know you have created a great content, reach out to people and let them know. Contact them and let them know you have something great. Tweet it, and not just once. Email them, IM them, call, if you have to. Time Your Launch – If you publish your great content when no one is around to see it, it is wasted and gets covered with other posts which are more recent when people login or access. Don’t publish at 8 pm Friday night. Avoid publishing right when festivities begin. Post at the beginning of a busy day. Have a Promotion Plan – As soon as you build a great content, don’t rush over to the next project. Promote it. Have a plan for methodical promotion. Post It Somewhere Else – Just don’t keep your great content to your site, spread it around. Even for great content you need to go to where your audience is. Please remember, even “Great” content takes time to leave its mark. So please be patient while your “greatness” is recognized.
