My First Commission

    I've just received an email asking for me to do an illustration (no details yet) for a children's book. Before I go into this, I need to know roughly what people charge for their illustrations and anything else I need to know. I wasn't expecting this!

    I do illustrations for my own children's stories, the first of which will be published on Amazon's CreateSpace soon.

    Can anyone help?

    I just did colour work for Schofield and Sims and they paid me £50 for a full colour drawing 3x3" approx
    the publisher may already know what they are going to pay you. You could ask them first.

    I made a resume on Illustrator and it got me £20. I am sure you will get enough. All the best :)
