Heya everyone, I'm new to the forum.

I love drawing but I really am stuck for what to do. Im working P/T in Tesco and doing some Hand drawn pet commissions on the side but its very few and far between. I really want to get it all started by doing illustrations for a company or book writers.

I've been doing quite a bit of research and found a lot of people have started sending their designs to greeting card companys.
Apparently there are over 800 greeting card companies, not all will accept freelance designs but many will.. I just need help in finding out who they are though..

So if anyone could give me any helpful into, tips and advice I would be very greatful.

    Thanks

    Bex

    Hi Bex,

Yes there is a trend for artists doing well with this strategy.

Rather than just sending an email a good tip is to find a greeting card company through their social network channels. More and more companies are switching to mediums like Facebook and are eager to engage with their followers.

When looking for a greeting company to target, look for the ones with diverse designs. The Great British Card Company (who own madici and paperhouse) pride themselves in supporting freelance designers.

    Good luck,
    Leo
