Hi All, What do you think of my site? you help is appreciated i would like to know What do you think about the design What you think of the navigation What you think about the text www.odada.com Thanks, Ahmad
Your website Hi Ahmad, I like the design of the site - it's clear and simple, and your eye is drawn to the text. But the image, though it is calming, could be a bit better quality? I think Odada is a good name. Perhaps a logo would be good, to add some detail. The navigation is very clear - good. "With new technologies, more and more is possible to expand your business:" Could replace with "The arrival of new technologies mean there are many ways to expand your business:" Overall the text could do with some tweaking, but I like the design. I have also created a new website - would love your opinion on the design, logo, navigation - and if I should put a picture of myself on the frontpage! (or change it?). Cup of Copy Copywriting - good copy sells more! Good Luck
Hi Craig is quite right about your website copy, the site has little content and what there is needs improving. Beyond that, there are a few concerns. You strongly recommend that clients use a CMS, when this may not be the best course of action for small businesses. They are generally most concerned about search engine positioning and virtually all CMS cause problems with this. Equally, a properly composed static site can serve them better in other ways and if set up correctly, updating is not a major issue. If a CMS is chosen because a site is going to see great amounts of new material from various contributors, fine, although this is not common. Couldn't help wondering if the CMS was because that is what you are used to using. The reason I say that, is a glance at your gallery. Minor point, your site content would be better hosted on your site and with textual explanation. Main point, these designs seem to have been taken off free template sites, with no hint of that, let alone a link. Nothing wrong with using templates, that's what they are for but you might think about how you use them. The same applies to client sites. Only saw one and suggest you might read up on how web robots see text on a site and what might be a problem, such as stuffed keyword tags, fairly pointless anyway, apart from as an indication of spam. You may think I am being harsh in this post but the intention is to help. Looking at the choice of your own template and a couple of pages you produced, I think you have a good sense of style and colour, which is a great start in web design. Why not take a while out, spend time building yourself a stunning, compliant site, with enthralling content. Then you will attract customers and be better placed to provide what they need.
For Craig As you asked for someone to look at your site and there are no replies, thought I may as well upset you as well. Not too much though, you are obviously a very capable copywriter, so why do you use " I " for so many sentences. Generally bad news in website copy, the reality is that visitors are interested in what you can do for them, not what you do. Turning a few sentences around to this theme would be time well spent. Purely personal opinion, the colours on your site are awful. Definitely not personal opinion, please remove the audio. Search around for focus group results and you will see this is the best way to lose half your potential customers in the first second. As to using a picture of yourself instead, not first choice, however you look, this has the potential to raise various objections in visitor's minds. There are cases where this does work, particularly if you are putting together a site that will be a real authority in the chosen field. Even then, best to use the image as a subtle part of a good sized, text based page. Could be you will create that authority site, your hints on copywriting were useful. Why not build on that, good link bait and interesting for potential customers
Thanks very much Well with my cms recommendation, we use an open source system, which can be rolled out in 1 hour, that is for the actual framework. then customisation of the design should take the same time as any standard website. As for SEO, CMSs actully help seo. just do a search for my recent clients sara cafe amberking nina moeller designs (this is proof, its not a cms based site, and the main link to it is on my website news page) with the gallary, yes, i agree, i need to add some more info as you suggested, I have integrated the images that i have with flickr, and i am working on a module that will also import the description. Thanks Again,
