Hello, I hope this is the right place for my question. What is the procedure for getting a patent for a software product or idea? I know that in different countries/states there are different requirements and that for software products they are more complex - whether the idea is original enough to deserve a patent. Also, that there are different taxes for gaining a patent in different countries. As far as I understand, I should describe my idea in a few sentences, make a research to check if there is a similar or same patent already made, and then use an agency or a layer that can legally grant me the patent. I would very much appreciate if you could tell me what else is there that I should know, how should the whole process take place and where do I have to be careful to make sure everything is done correctly. Well in order to find a patent the software which you have created must be up to such a level in order to meet the needs and requirements of a business or an agency. Apart from this its really very difficult to find a patent with in the current times.
