Query re: hiring an illustrator

Hi,

I have a project and wondered how much it would cost to hire an illustrator to add a really cool vector image to a logo I'm designing... the only thing I could do is live trace an image in illustrator and add some effects, which would create something good but I want this to be very good! Nothing is set in stone yet so I'm just testing the water...

The project is a flower design, I would like someone to draw something really cool and I'm open to negotiation regarding copyright etc. It would be really beneficial if someone could give a rough ball park figure

illustrators are not hired to do VECTOR! they are illustrators they draw, if your a designer you should be doing the vector stuff.

 

Let's not split hairs over semantics, i was referring to an illustration...
