Question about letters of agreement and contracts

    Hello all,

    I would like to get your opinions on something. After being burned a few times I have started requiring a letter of agreement to be signed by the client and returned before work begins but I haven't quite figured out the means.

    I could:

    1) Email it to the client and let them snail mail it back to me but it's so slow as to be almost unusable.

    2) I could email it to them and have them fax it back to me but I don't have a dedicated fax and I would prefer not to get one.

    3) I could use an online solution like Adobe Echo Sign to keep it all digital but I am not sure which are the most reliable or how comfortable clients would be in using it.

    What do most writers use to get contracts signed and returned in a timely manner?

    Oh and one more question. I was thinking of adding language to require the client company to designate a single point of contact for me to solve the "too many cooks in the kitchen" scenario. Is that fairly standard or would it irritate clients?
