We've decided to relax the rules a little on the Freelance UK forum.

This is a forum to support UK media and creative freelancers. Therefore the sigs allowed are just for UK creative and media freelancers only I'm afraid.

IF you are such a freelancer based in the UK, then you can now add brief signature text to say what services you offer, with ONE link only to either your own site or Freelance Alliance profile. As an alternative we will also accept one link to your own Twitter feed, LinkedIn, or your Facebook profile. We won't however accept links to other freelance directory/marketplace/profile sites that conflict with our own Freelance Alliance.

Signature descriptions should be no longer than 60 characters and must just say what you do.

We will be quite strict on ensuring there is just the one link in addition to your signature description, so if we see a link to your site and your Twitter page, and your Facebook page plus your Uncle's golf equipment retail outlet etc.. we'll give you two chances before banning you outright.

We also won't accept links to promote anything other than an individual freelancer's work. So I'm afraid you won't be able to spam this forum to build links out for stone supplies, sports shoes and all the other millions of irrelevant links we delete regularly. So don't waste your time or ours.

The rules on no blatant advertising and spamming in posts remain. While we encourage you to network with other freelancers, the purpose of the forum community is to help one another with knowledge and experience. Joining just to spam ('I'm a freelancer, hire me here') is not an acceptable use of the forum and you will be banned.

If you are not a UK freelancer you are still welcome to contribute useful posts to the forum but not to add sigs - these will be removed.
