Hi everyone, i am relatively new to semi pro photography, i am keen to pursue alternative photography and would appreciate any direction on where i should go, who i should speak to regarding war photography. I have done freelance work for newspapers in the past but i want to do something extra special! long shot i know but any advice is greatly appreciated.

sorry dsbridgen, I've no advice to give you but just wanted to wish you luck. your photography sounds ace. I'm guessing you've approached the army and navy for pointers etc?
    good luck

you'll also need basic training and photography skills, if you want to make it in this exciting profession.

    Technical to know:-
    Depth of field
    Lens and camera mechanics
    Color theory
Film development (yes, photojournalists still often shoot in film)
    Darkroom printing

Might be worth just emailing a few places, if not for work just for advice?

I'm sure they'd be willing to help you out if you're interested!

    Hope this helps
