What clauses we need to include in a freelancer contract?

I am working as a freelancer and now I started to sign contract with each client. It can help me to get paid on time and also useful for security reasons. But I am little bit confuse that which clauses I should add to the contract form. I want to make contract simple. Please suggest me something.

Depends on the freelance work. Is it something where you quote them hours and deliver a finished project, or are you expected to edit and make changes after feedback?

In order to not get screwed out of your time, I would add a clause about the editorial process. If they are really picky and keep coming back with changes, they should pay for this extra work.

If you are working on a quote basis, I would add a clause of "quotes are general agreements and price may vary on time spent" kind of deal.

As Doug suggested, take a look at some other example contracts to get an idea of what others have included.

You may also want to look into some business courses or online tutorials too. That's always helpful.
