hi, spent the last 30 years working as an architectural consultant mainly on residential projects such as new houses, extensions loft conversions etc etc,all drawn by hand!! would like to train on CAD, passable knowledge of computers but no pAssion for it, what would be the best cad programme, autocad or Vectorworks? Ease of use etc, only need 2D

I would go with AutoCAD, Vectorworks is less accurate than the other mainstream programs. Better still you could look at Microstation, ArchiCAD or Revit, although I beleive the latter two you are pretty much obliged to draw in 3D
