I'm 25, I've just finished a doctorate from a top university and I work at an economic consulting firm. I really enjoy my job - however, I'm trying to find an outlet for my writing about American Politics (I'm British btw). At university I won an award for my columns on American Politics and I have made quite a bit from betting on US Politics. I've tried submitting stuff to Comment is Free and The First Post, but as a hawkish (McCain supporter my pieces were politely rejected at first and then just ignored.

Does anyone have any advice about where and how I should pitch my article ideas? I tried starting a blog but it wasn't particularly sucessful and anyway the demands of my job means that I am now limited to producing a 750 word piece once every week.
