Hi

I'm trying to get my head around ecommerce, so I'm working on PHP/MySQL and template ecart solutions.

My question concerns payment gateways. The price to open an account seems to vary from a few hundred pounds to around about a thousand plus huge monthly fees. This all seems very expensive to me, so I wonder if anyone has any tips for the best gateways in terms of price/security/service etc?

Protx seem to be the most widely used and good value as well from what I can see.
